“Hey slut!” A struggling feminist podcaster reinvents herself in pursuit of fame, only to lose herself in the performance. Darkly hilarious, gripping and surreal, ROLEPLAY is a ferocious interrogation of modern sex, the commodification of feminism and the era of the personal brand.
Writer, actress and comic Hannah Reilly brings her ‘fresh, female-first approach’ (Elle) to the Fringe in this NSFW one-woman show developed and directed by Paige Rattray (Fangirls). From award-winning producers Francesca Moody Productions (Fleabag, Baby Reindeer) and Global Creatures (Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Muriel’s Wedding The Musical).

Hannah Reilly is an award-winning Australian writer, director and performer known for bold, satirical work with a “fresh, female-first approach” (Elle), exploring power, performance and modern womanhood.
She is the creator, writer and co-lyricist of The Deb, commissioned through the Australian Theatre for Young People Rebel Wilson Comedy Commission, which opened to rave reviews, an extended season, and was later named by The Guardian as one of the 15 greatest Australian musicals of all time. Reilly adapted the work into a feature film, which premiered as the closing night selection at the Toronto International Film Festival, earning praise as “hysterical” (IndieWire) and “toe-tapping, dazzling, fun” (Deadline).
Her work spans stage and screen, including the ABC comedy Growing Up Gracefully (acquired internationally by Apple TV) and the Australian Writers’ Guild Award-winning series Sheilas, with critics praising her voice as “sharp, surreal satire on womanhood that Australia needs” (The Guardian).
In 2024, she was selected for a Screen Australia Enterprise placement at Invention Studios in Los Angeles, working with producer Nicholas Weinstock (Severance, Bridesmaids), and continues to develop new work under her banner, Most Improved Productions.
Her new play ROLEPLAY, debuting at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, marks her first international stage work.

PAIGE RATTRAY
Paige Rattray is an award-winning director working across stage and screen, based between London and Sydney. She was Director of New Work and Artistic Development at Sydney Theatre Company from 2022 to 2024, having previously served as Associate Director (2018–2022) and STC’s Richard Wherrett Fellow (2015–2016).
Paige directed Fangirls at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre in 2024, co-produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, following critically acclaimed seasons at Belvoir Street Theatre, Queensland Theatre and Sydney Opera House, and a national tour. The production won the 2019 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Mainstage Musical and the Matilda Award for Best Musical or Cabaret, among other accolades.
Her theatre credits include: The Picture Of Dorian Gray (Production Dramaturg, West End and Broadway); Triple X (Queensland Theatre/Sydney Theatre Company); Into The Shimmering World, Do Not Go Gentle…, Oil, The Lifespan Of A Fact, Blithe Spirit, Death Of A Salesman, The Deep Blue Sea, The Beauty Queen Of Leenane (winner, 2019 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Direction of a Mainstage Production) and How To Rule The World (Sydney Theatre Company); Hedda, Scenes From A Marriage and Switzerland (Queensland Theatre); and Black Is The New White (Sydney Theatre Company and national tour).
For screen, Paige directed an episode of Two Years Later (Hoodlum Entertainment/Paramount+) and was Shadow Director and Dramaturg on Heartbreak High Season 3 (Fremantle/Netflix), having also served as Dramaturg on Season 2. She is currently attached to direct a feature film with Goalpost Pictures and a television series with Fremantle Australia, and is developing an original series with Dreamchaser Productions.

Global Creatures is a powerhouse of original theatrical storytelling, renowned for creating spectacular, genre-defining productions that captivate audiences worldwide. From the awe-inspiring Walking with Dinosaurs—The Arena Spectacular and How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular, to the dazzling Strictly Ballroom The Musical, and the groundbreaking King Kong the company continues to push boundaries in live entertainment. The beloved Muriel’s Wedding The Musical toured throughout Australia in 2017 and 2019 and ran its UK premiere season in April 2025.
Global Creatures’ ten-time Tony® Award-winning Moulin Rouge! The Musical is currently playing on Broadway, the West End, Cologne in Germany, Utrecht in the Netherlands, and performing a North American tour. In 2025, the show launched its first-ever World Tour in Edinburgh. The production will open in Hamburg in November 2026 ahead of its return to Sydney in March 2027. Previous international seasons have included Tokyo & Osaka (2023 & 2024), Seoul (2023 & 2025) and a blockbuster Australian tour from 2021-2024.
The company is also developing a live theatrical adaptation of Trent Dalton’s acclaimed novel Boy Swallows Universe. In addition, Global Creatures has joined the producing team as General Partner on Gatsby: An American Myth, featuring music and lyrics by Florence Welch, a book by Martyna Majok, and direction by David Cromer.
